The client / the project

The Cybersecurity Engineering Lead is a hybrid role that combines deep technical expertise in cybersecurity architecture and engineering with day-to-day technical leadership and coordination within the team. This person will be responsible for designing and reviewing cybersecurity architectures, advising on technical controls, managing tasks and workloads within the engineering team, and providing guidance across multiple domains including infrastructure, cloud security, identity, and endpoint protection.
The position requires a hands-on mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead by example while supporting junior and senior colleagues alike.

Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and implement cybersecurity architectures for internal and client projects
  • Act as a technical mentor and lead for a multidisciplinary team of cybersecurity engineers and architects
  • Allocate daily/weekly tasks, manage planning and follow up on team deliverables
  • Collaborate with delivery managers and client stakeholders
  • Participate in high-level security advisory and architecture discussions
  • Document designs, security controls, and implementation guides
  • Support knowledge-sharing and learning across the engineering team
  • Stay current on emerging threats, trends, and technologies in cybersecurity

Technologies / Skills

  • 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering and/or architecture roles
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and reviewing secure architectures
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Controls)
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • English: Fluent (spoken & written – required for internal work and client communication)
  • Hungarian: Professional working proficiency
  • Strong analytical and architectural mindset with the ability to balance short-term priorities and long-term strategy
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring cybersecurity teams
  • Solid understanding of enterprise architecture and secure system design principles
  • Self-motivated and proactive in driving team performance and technical quality
  • Excellent communication and task management skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced consultancy environment
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Strong technical background in:
  • Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Network Security (firewalls, segmentation, IDS/IPS)
  • Endpoint Security and EDR/XDR platforms
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM, PAM)
  • Security Monitoring and Logging (SIEM, SOAR, log management best practices)
  • Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps concepts
  • Zero Trust Architecture and Secure Access Technologies (ZTNA, SASE, VPN alternatives)

Advantages

  • Experience with security tooling such as Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Okta, MS stack, Logpoint
  • Certifications: CISSP, CISM, OSCP, Azure/AWS Security Specialty etc.
