The client / the project

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Governance Specialist to strengthen our partner's Data Governance & Enablement team. The role focuses on establishing and enforcing enterprise-wide data governance standards, ensuring consistent definitions of business terms and KPIs across business units, and managing the data governance tool portfolio, including the business glossary, data catalogue, report catalogue, and data quality tools. You will play a key role in driving data governance maturity, harmonizing understanding of data assets, and coaching junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce data governance principles, policies, and processes.
• Define data governance expectations across business functions and ensure adoption.
• Maintain and evolve the organization’s data governance tools (business glossary, data catalogue, report catalogue, data quality tool).
• Drive alignment on business terms, KPIs, and metrics across multiple stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions with business and technical teams to ensure consistent understanding of data governance practices.
• Monitor data quality and provide guidance on data stewardship.
• Support and coach junior team members in applying data governance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a centralized organization to ensure data governance principles are embedded into processes and projects.

Technologies / Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or business analysis in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage and maintain data governance tools (business glossary, catalogues, quality frameworks).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate governance requirements into actionable solutions.
• Solid experience in cross-functional collaboration within complex organizational structures.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Advantages

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent certification.
• Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA, CBAP) or equivalent.
