The client / the project

The Lead Data Architect will work closely with other architects, subject matter experts (SMEs), product owners, data engineers and developers to design enterprise data sets and ensure data architecture is aligned with enterprise data principles and standards. The Lead Data Architect also compiles business requirements into data requirements. Aligns architecture direction and solutions with business and IT strategies. Creates contextual, conceptual, logical and physical data models.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with architects, SMEs, product owners, engineers, and developers
  • Design and maintain contextual, conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Describes the structure of data assets.
  • Lead data assessments to identify which systems can support each KPI
  • Drives delivery of data artifacts and deliverables (e.g. data models, data structures for business data domains, data transformations, etc.).
  • Ensures product/solution in broad capability area aligned with data practices through Data Architecture Assessments.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues and process gaps
  • Translate business requirements into data requirements
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data principles, governance, and architecture standards
  • Provide technical ownership over data delivery and artifacts
  • Implement tactical and strategic data solutions in Snowflake
  • Support transparency and progress tracking for stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel abroad to work with subject matter experts working on the field to understand business processes, challenges and needs.
  • Hybrid working arrangement: 1 day/week in-office (Budapest XIII)

Technologies / Skills

  • Experience in building large-scale batch and/or real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks in cloud platforms and/or on-premises.
  • Ability to design and optimize enterprise data sets
  • Background in data assessment, data profiling, and data quality analysis
  • Strong experience in Snowflake
  • Solid business analyst mindset to understand and map KPIs
  • Technical leadership skills to align delivery teams
  • Clear communication and fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Experience facilitating and documenting business and technical workshops

Advantages

  • Experience in SAP, Allegro, Arbo, SPINet or similar systems
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), or Data Catalogs
  • Familiarity with SAFE Agile framework, Azure DevOps, GitHub
  • Experience creating and maintaining reference data models
  • Works with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure data enablement work is prioritized across the capability, aligned with business and technology strategies and roadmaps.
  • Knowledge of international collaboration across multiple time zones
